How datastage connects to salesforce

Connecting to Salesforce through Datastage can be done in different ways. The one im going to explain here is how to use the webservice stage and connect to the Salesforce API. One major useful site that I found that gives a list of all the salesforce operations with the soap message structures was the developer force wiki site.

Integrating Salesforce with datastage

Hi,
I am in the process of preparing a Proof of concept for integrating salesforce with our EDW via Datastage.
We are not using the Salesforce pack.
DS version is 11.3.1.
The high level design will have 3 layers, EDW <–>ETL <–> Salesforce.com
Via DS batches records should go in an out of EDW & SF.
We are planning to send and receive with SOAP requests.
As the first step, I downloaded the enterprise WSDL from Sandbox salesforce from my login (I had signed up a 30 day trial sandbox).
Using that WDSL, I was able to import a few functions like login, getservertimestamp, getuserinfo and query.
I am able to login via DS job with Webservices transformer and able to use all three functions above with the help of session ID captured.
For query () fuction, I am able to “SELECT” records from Account, Contact tables and write to seq files.
Now coming to my questions:
1.
