Jamf Connect Integration with Jamf Pro
Jamf Connect is an app that allows administrators to manage authentication by connecting a user’s local macOS account to their organization’s cloud identity (network account). Jamf Connect includes two core components:
Creating a Jamf Connect Configuration Profile
You can use Jamf Pro to create a computer configuration profile that configures Jamf Connect settings with the Application & Custom Settings payload. This payload allows you to select Jamf Connect preferences, automatically generate a PLIST file, and configure the scope.
Configuring Jamf Connect Deployment and Update Settings
You can configure Jamf Pro to deploy Jamf Connect to computers and automatically update the version as new releases become available. To do so, you must assign deployment and update settings to an existing configuration profile in Jamf Pro that has Jamf Connect settings.
Viewing and Retrying Jamf Connect Deployments
You can view the status of Jamf Connect deployments to see if the command to install the Jamf Connect package was successfully received. If you want to send another command to install Jamf Connect for a computer, you can retry deployment for that computer or multiple computers.
Enter your RMM credentials
Create a dedicated user and password in Jamf Pro which will be used for IT Glue to access the Jamf Pro Server API. This user account only needs Read-access to computers.
From the Account > Integrations screen, click Actions > Start Manual Sync .
IT Glue discovers organizations and configurations and tries to match them to data in your account. The matching logic can be found in the Introduction section of this article. Anything that isn’t automatically matched will need to be manually actioned.
Once all organizations have been matched, the same process should be followed for any unmatched configurations.
Before an organization, site, location, or company in an RMM tool can sync with IT Glue to create an IT Glue organization, you must add at least one configuration to it. If there are none and the organization does not already exist in IT Glue from any other source, then it will not appear in IT Glue.
