What is the do not call registry and how does it work?

The National Do Not Call Registry was started by the FTC as a way to protect consumers from unwanted sales calls. Registering is free and anyone can sign-up by visiting donotcall.gov and registering their number.

Why realrealphonevalidation for do not call list?

RealPhoneValidation encourages all businesses to check do not call list and take the necessary precautions to stay compliant with Do Not Call rules & regulations.

Why doesn’t the FTC’s Call registry apply to political calls?

Because of the limits to FTC’s authority, the Registry does not apply to political calls or calls from non-profits and charities (but the Registry does cover telemarketers calling on behalf of charities). Also, calls from legitimate “survey” organizations are not covered because they are not offering to sell anything to consumers.

Does the registry keep records of phone calls?

The Registry only contains phone numbers, no other personally identifiable information, and we do not keep a record of whether the numbers are land line or cell phones. There are some exemptions to the Do Not Call rules.
